We Go Maui only works with small groups which allows us to provide you the utmost attention, ensuring your safety and comfortability above all else, especially because we work with non-swimmers and first timers. It also allows us to connect with you on a more personal level and provide a more personalized experience, which is something you wont get from being on a large tour. All of our guides are CPR and first aid certified and have a lifetime of experience in the ocean. Many of us are free divers and spear fishers, and have a deep knowledge and wisdom of the ocean and how to approach it safely. Being with our guides is like going into the ocean with your own personal lifeguard.
We only snorkel from the shoreline starting in calm shallow waters, so there’s no bumpy boat ride that often times takes you to deep water where you can’t even see the marine life at the bottom. A benefit of snorkeling from the shoreline is the sea life is so much more visible in the shallow water.
We pride ourselves in education. Our guides have a vast knowledge of marine life, and can point out to you very specific things. Many other tours just set you out on your own and that’s that. We want you to not only have fun but know what you are looking at. We emphasize the importance of respecting the ocean and its inhabitants, no stepping on coral(its alive!), or touching the turtles or any sea life. Not only does it harm them in many cases, but they can also harm us.
Sharing our authentic knowledge with you through the lens of the Hawaiian culture and its values is another passion we have that you wont find on other tours. Not only do traditional Hawaiian values teach us how to approach the ocean safely, but can be applied anywhere in our life, even in modern times.
When you choose to book with We Go Maui, you are supporting a local business owned and run by people who are born and raised on Maui, whose families have been here for generations. Supporting us allows us to continue to share our knowledge and wisdom of the land and sea, so that it may not be lost and forgotten in the modern world. Supporting us allows us as well to pursue our ventures in conservation work, environmental cleanups, and cultural preservation. What we do on land effects the ocean, and it all comes around full circle.
The Hawaiian value Laulima mean “many hands working together”. When we work together our ability to change the world around us is greater than trying to do it alone. That’s why its not “I GO” its “WE GO!”
Please come and join us and help make a difference.
